Directions to Hunt Meet Fixtures
Missouri:
Bridlespur - From I-64 US-40/61 proceed north. At the I-70 interchange continue north on US-61 for approximately 30 miles. Turn LEFT onto MO-Z and go 7.7 miles. Turn RIGHT onto MO-HH and go 1/3 mile to Bridlespur-Valley Green Farm entrance. Cedar Valley - 270, 141 or 109 to Highway 30 West. (109 dead ends after Eureka, turn left onto W and follow to Highway 30 West.) Turn right onto 30 and follow to Highway Y South (you will go beyond the "Big River"). Turn left onto Y. Continue 1 mile on Y to WW. Turn right onto WW and follow to the Cedar Valley sign. Turn right and follow the gravel road to the pasture gate on the right. Park here. MapQuest Map Illinois: Hill N Hound - (Kane, IL) Highway 270 North to 367 North. Follow 367 over the Lewis and Clark Bridge. (367 turns into 67 along the way.) At the stoplight turn left and follow 67. through Alton, Godfrey and Jerseyville. Stay on 67 for 6 miles after Jerseyville, watch for a brick home on your left and large red barn on the right. The farm's gravel drive is immediately after the house on the left. (If you cross the Macoupin Creek, you have gone too far.) **Alternative parking may be used at Bob Sweringen's property. On 67, after Jerseyville, turn left on Kane Road. Follow 2.5 miles to the pasture with the mobile home on the right. Park in this field. Again, if you cross Macoupin Creek, you have gone too far. Steckel Farms - Follow the directions to Hill N Hound. Go past their farm and across the Macoupin Creek. Take the first left after the bridge. It will be marked Rt. 860N. Go 100 yards and turn right onto 1150E then turn right into Steckel Farm. Calhoun County - Highway 270 North to 370 West, exit 94. Turn left (toward Bochertown). Turn left onto B and follow until you reach Golden Eagle Ferry. Buy a round trip ticket for the ferry. As you exit the ferry, go straight up the hill to the next stop sign. Turn left onto Mississippi River Road and follow for approximately 3-4 miles. Sunset Ridge will be on your left and about 100 yards further, you will see Prosker Lane. There is a little house on the left that you should pull behind to park Please remember to CLEAN UP any evidence that a horse was there before leaving after the hunt. The landowners are generous enough to allow us access to their property. We need to be courteous and respect their hospitality. |
